Bartender – San Jose Country Club

San Jose Country Club is seeking an experienced, high-energy Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can handle high-volume service with consistency, and brings a positive, team-first attitude to every shift.

Our bartenders play a key role in delivering a seamless member experience—balancing speed, precision, and hospitality in a dynamic club setting.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for efficiently preparing and serving beverages while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and professionalism during high-volume service periods. This role requires strong bar instincts, the ability to stay organized under pressure, and a commitment to working as part of a cohesive team.

Key Responsibilities

High-Volume Beverage Execution

Prepare cocktails, wine, and beer quickly and consistently in a fast-paced environment
Maintain accurate pour control (standard 1.5 oz pours) while working at speed
Execute multiple tickets at once without sacrificing quality or presentation
Follow established recipes while maintaining strong service flow

Service & Teamwork

Deliver friendly, attentive service while maintaining efficiency
Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, and management during service
Support team members to ensure smooth operations across the bar and dining room
Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times

Bar Organization & Efficiency

Keep a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar to support high-volume service
Set up and break down the bar efficiently for each shift
Clean as you go and maintain an uncluttered, functional workspace
Ensure all tools, glassware, and garnishes are stocked and ready for service

Standards & Accountability

Adhere to all SOPs related to beverage preparation and service
Participate in periodic pour testing to maintain free-pour privileges
Follow all alcohol service guidelines and safety standards
Accurately ring in orders and manage tabs through the POS system

Training & Development

Complete structured onboarding program (Day 1–Week 2 training)
Ongoing coaching focused on speed, consistency, and execution

Qualifications

2–4 years of bartending experience in a full-service, high-volume bar required
Proven ability to handle busy shifts with strong organization and efficiency
Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, and spirits
Positive attitude and strong team-oriented mindset are required
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
Strong attention to detail while maintaining speed
Professional appearance and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

$10/hour + pooled commissions
Flexible schedule; nights, weekends, and holidays required
